This event is so fantastic, it gives these kids participating a chance that they might never experience if it was not for Surfers Healing! Children with autism have sensory issues and for a lot of them the beach is very healing, the feel of the sand beneath their feet the feel of the water and the waves of the ocean....then add the movement on top of a surf board with their own professional surfer helping them to surf! It is nothing short of amazing! You see parents in tears because it may be the first time that their child speaks their first words after surfing, or it may be the first time that they get eye contact from their child.
